York is truly a fantastic city. Our home is in a beautiful yet convenient location overlooking a field, a golf course and a small lake, yet it is very close to all the attractions and amenities of this historic, yet vibrant, living and very friendly city.
From here we do excursions to all parts of UK by train, Londodn, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh and more are all possible for a day's visit.
We have 4 large bedrooms of which 2 are avaiable for homestay and we retain the others for ourselves, and family and friends' occasional visits.
It is over 100 years old and parts of the house retain original features and we have comfy anyique furniture, while the kitchen and bathrooms are all very modern. The garden is a walled, sheltered, sun trap with places for sitting privately or eating al fresco.
We love to take our guests out and interact, rather than just providing bed and board. We both like to cook and eat good food, share recipes from around the world, play games and sport, share traditions of local dance and customs, as well as being able to offer inside knowledge on the culture and heritage of our country and this wonderful town and surrounding areas. There are attractions to suit all ages and tastes and as we have a huge range of interests ourselves, we find most people who come to stay want to return. In fact we won't be available for homestay until January 2013 as we are fully booked for the next 4 months (September to December 2012)

You can have simple homestay, join in our family life, or we can provide excursions or fun activities tailored to your wishes. There is so much to do in the area, and we suggest you contact us for more details of what is on offer. We are both teachers so this includes tuition if needed.

We create a programme that suits you exactly if you let us know your level and what you wish to achieve.

In the basic package, up to 3 other guests may be accommodated at the same time. We would expect to offer you the occasional opportunity to accompany us on visits and excursions as part of our family life. Note that in the basic package, we would expect you to pay for your own tickets or entrance fees to the theatre, cinema or country house and the cost of any meal in a restaurant on a full day out.

Reviews for this Homestay in York , United Kingdom
