Dear exchangers,

we will be happy to send photographs if you are interested.

We have a New York City 3-floor spacious town house of 2400 square feet, 3 floors. Right in the center of Greenwich Village in Manhattan, it is located on an old cobbled street where traffic is not allowed, so it is extremely quiet. Very large living room, medium-sized dining room and small kitchen (as is standard in New York), it has two full bathrooms and four other rooms. We use them as two (very large) bedrooms and two enormous studies. But the studies have sofa that open into a bed. We have a total of 2 queen beds, 2 full beds, and 2 twins, so the house can accommodate 4 couples or 10 people. Fully furnished, all appliances including dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer. Air conditioned. Radio/TV/VCR/DVD player and many many music CDs.

Our house is located on what many say is the most desirable little street in Manhattan, Washington Mews. (The street is a landmark, preserved by law.) The neighborhood is perhaps the most exciting in New York. It has hundreds of restaurants and coffee houses, from the cheapest to the most expensive, within walking distance. It is near New York University (where we both teach) which has many events open to the public. One-half block away is Washington Square Park marked by a large arch, a fountain, playgrounds, gardens, bocce court, chess tables, and many other features. The location is very close to all the NY subway lines.

There is also a Adoorman@ with a staff that can make repairs, receive packages, let you in if you forget your keys.

Washington Mews is totally secure because it is a gated street. To enter after 11 PM or before 7 AM you must enter a combination of numbers into the high gate.

You enter the house=s main, or middle floor, one large open room measuring approximately 22 feet by 35 feet. Close to the street there is a dining room and a small kitchen, New York style, and these Arooms@ are separated only by a counter. Toward the back of the house is a large living area of about 22 by 15 feet. Its back wall has large windows (and parts of the wall are made of glass brick) looking out onto a garden that belongs to New York University. The rooms are comfortably furnished, including a designer leather sofa, leather relaxed chair and ottoman, Morris chair; there is a fine cherry dining table and beautiful dining chairs. The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, stove, large refrigerator, microwave and all the pots, dishes and other appliances you could need, including several espresso makers.
There is an open staircase in the middle of the main floor taking you up one floor. Here there is a very large master bedroom with a hand-made beautiful queen-size bed, dresser, chest, and large television set. (There is a second TV in the living room.) The bathroom on this floor has tub and shower. At the back on this floor is a giant study (same size as living room) with a work area and a sitting area. There are two desks, one small dresser, large closets and sofa that can become a double bed in the sitting area. There are many closets including a huge linen closet filled with all the towels, blankets, sheets you could need.

On the bottom floor the plan is an exact replica of the top floor. There is a large bedroom that contains one double bed and one single futon bed, two large closets, a desk, a dresser, and a chest that contains the linen for this floor. It has its own bathroom with a shower, no tub. Toward the back of the house is another large study, and it also has a sofa that can become another queen-size bed. There is also a small laundry room on this floor with washing machine and dryer.
