Miami Shores located on the inter-coastal waterway 10 minutes north of downtown Miami, has its own 18-hole golf course as well as a community water park. Both are 5 minutes from the house. Free uncrowded ocean beaches are 12 minutes to the east. Bal Harbor & Aventura, international shopping destinations, are 20 minutes northeast. The shops, restaurants, clubs and entertainment on SOUTH BEACH are a 20-minute drive. In SOBE, the newly built headquarters & symphony hall of the New World Symphony is attracting much attention - particularly the free outdoor concert series. 15 minutes to the north you can take in a professional baseball or football game. To the west, the EVERGLADES and the northern FLORIDA KEYS are within 1 hour. The northern Keys with John Pennekamp Coral Reef Park has some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in Florida. Port of Miami, the USA's busiest cruise hub, & international airports FLL & MIA are a 20 minute drive.

Bob and Jan enjoy swimming in the ocean, snorkeling, and taking advantage of the many cultural events in the area. We also both enjoy gardening and learning about the tropical plants at our new home. We have created 15 zones of organic "edible landscape" that provides fresh fruit & vegetables almost year round. We have 2 grown children We have enjoyed this area for nearly 10 years & will be glad to help introduce you to those highlights that most guide books don't even know about.
We are both professionals - Jan is an administrator at the University of Miami medical campus and Bob, an industrial engineer, is the general manager of a manufacturing firm.
