Marco Island is in the Southwest of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. It's described as magical, mystical and alluring with it's endless miles of tropical sun-washed white beaches and casual easy paced life style. There are many excellent restaurants nearby, movie theater, and delightful shops and boutiques. It is a world class resort with year round warmth and sun with balmy tropical breezes.
It's a five minute walk to the beautiful white sand beach where there are also restaurants for meals or snacks/cocktails. We have all the pool and beach equipment, cooler and beach chairs, also fishing rods and tackle for your use while here. On beautiful long walks along the beach you'll see many different types of birds, shells, and starfish that are washed ashore. There are lovely tropical cafes to visit along the walk. Marco Island attracts many vacationers from Europe. The restaurants on the island reflect this with their French, German, Italian and other worldly cuisines. We are also close to many shops, movie theaters and other entertainment. Over the bridge is Naples, a large attractive city with theaters, museums, outlets, zoo, all things a big city offers. We are an hour from the everglades, 1-1/2 hours from Miami, and a ferry ride to Key West is a fun day trip. But, honestly, once you're in Marco you won't want to leave the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Fort Myers International is the closest airport, 45 minute to an hour trip.

| About Home Exchange

My husband and I are both retired, in our 60's. This will be our first experience with home exchange and think it's a wonderful idea. We will be in Germany for a wedding and plan to spend several weeks to a month in Tuscany, Lucca, where my husband has roots and relatives. We are flexible in timing for use of our home but we are looking for a home in Tuscany for a month (but would accept 1 or 2 weeks) from Sept. 21, 2011 till Oct. 21, 2011.
