Our home is nestled on 10 acres of sprawling hardwood and pine trees. We have sheep and chickens that graze in our pasture. Our sustainable home is custom-built. It is four years old and 2300 square feet. Our home is built using passive solar technology. It includes a solar hot water heater, low-flow faucets and a gourmet kitchen. Our neighborhood is filled with many artists, children and wonderful families. We are in the Piedmont region, 3 hours to the Atlantic and 2 hours to the mountains. Hillsborough is a wonderful town with an eclectic artist community. Many writers and poets call this town home. We have two farmers' markets and lots of activities for families. It is also steeped in Civil and Revolutionary War history. We are located near Duke University, University of North Carolina and North Carolina State University. Culture, theater and festivals are prolific.

About Home Exchange Owners :

We are a family of five with children ages 13, 10 and 7. Mike works at Cisco Systems and Lynne is a stay-at-home mom. We want to travel to Central America to enhance our Spanish and immerse our children in another culture. We will treat your home as if it were our home. We are very respectful of property and are willing to fix anything necessary. We would consider anything from 4-12 months. We will have two well behaved dogs that will accompany us. They are 8 and 10 years old.
