Hello. We live in Fabius NY which is in Central New York State, a very pretty place in the summer with rolling green hills,dairy farms and many lakes. Nearby there are farms where you can pick fresh blueberries and/or
strawberries. Our property is on a very pretty, quiet 2 mile long lake called DeRuyter Resevoir. Our cottage is 900 sq feet and has three bedrooms, one bathroom, a modern kitchen and a livingroom with a nice lake view. Our master bedroom has a queen sized bed while the two smaller bedrooms each contain two twin sized beds. Our kitchen has all major appliances such as refriderator, stove, oven ,microwave. (no dishwashwer) There is also a washer and dryer for clothing. We have access to high speed internet as well as direct tv (cable). Across the road, we own
70 feet of lake frontage with great swimming,
a hammock, dock, kayak and speed boat, good for tubing or water skiing. At night we often have bonfires and watch the fabulous night sky.

Near by town of Cazenovia NY, where we live full time (8 miles) is also a lake town with quaint shopping and many
wonderful restaurants. We are within driving distance of New York City (4 hours) or Toronto, Canada
(4 hours) and 1-2 hours from the Finger Lakes wine region. Syracuse, NY is the closest city (19 miles) The Adirondak National Park (a great place to hike/camp) is a two hour drive.

About Home Exchange Owners :

We are looking for a small home/apartment in a safe, comfortable Spanish speaking area where we can spend if possible, a month, immersing ourselves in the language and day to day life activities. We would hope to be able to walk to town. Our two children (13 and 10 years old) are both learning to speak Spanish and would benefit from this immersion dramatically. I am a teacher
and have the summer months of July and August free. My husband, an engineer would possibly join us
for a portion of our trip.
