You’ll enjoy the light-filled, open feeling of this sunny 2-story home completed in 2004. Living areas and bedrooms overlook a 2.5-mile (4 km) expanse of water, as an emerald tidal estuary abuts our back yard and winds westward to the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. Savor "happy hour" on the dock and watch the setting sun cast its shimmer on the water. Or enjoy your morning coffee with the herons, hawks and songbirds right outside the door.

Beaufort offers easy access to canoeing, kayaking, bicycling, swimming, fishing, and surfing. Multiple clean, wide beaches can be reached in 25 minutes. The village (10 min. in our car) features seasonal open-air concerts, gallery shows, friendly waterfront pubs, a fascinating maritime museum, and delightful shops, not to mention excellent restaurants serving the freshest seafood in a picturesque setting. An impressive tree-lined historic district (1720s) transports one to a simpler time and is best enjoyed by walking or bicycling. The nearby aquarium is really world-class (40 min.).

Additional pleasant outings include ferrying to Cape Lookout National Seashore & lighthouse on the Outer Banks, deep-sea fishing, and visiting the restored colonial governor’s Tryon Palace & Gardens in New Bern (50 min.). A memorable overnight jaunt encompasses the Outer Banks town of Kitty Hawk, where flight by man began in 1907. Our full size Lincoln sedan can be included in exchange for the use of your car. You won't lack for active or calm pastimes here, or socializing with locals, if you'd prefer!

Our fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops and island adjoins a spacious dining/living area, which opens onto a covered porch facing the water. The ground floor master suite includes a king size bed, walk-in shower, bathtub for 2, double lavatories, separate WC, and laundry. The ground floor guest room has a queen size bed and private bathroom (walk-in shower).

The media room features a 50" HD plasma TV with Blu-Ray player and streaming Netflix. A PC/wifi is available for your use. Upstairs, a 20' x 20' loft with full bath provides a sitting area with queen size sofa bed, king size bed, wide picture window, and deck overlooking the water.

Located on the mainland opposite the southern tip of the Outer Banks, Beaufort is home to about 4000 residents. Additional information is available at:
