Our two floor home is a small one (1200 sq/ft), but it has all modern amenities. It looks unfinished from the outside. We have spent our time and energy remodeling the inside and playing in the mountains.

Living Area
The living area is modest with a 34" TV and a DVD player. A futon doubles as a spare bed.

Kitchen
The kitchen is small but well stocked with a refrigerator, electric oven, gas range, and washer and gas dryer.

Office
The upstairs office offers splendid natural light and internet. We are a well-read couple. Books on the surrounding area, as well as, fiction of every type can be found in our stacks.

Master Bedroom
The master bedroom contains a 20" TV and DVD player. The bed is full/double. A gas fireplace tops off the coziness of this room.

This home is perfect for us but may not be for everyone. If you are looking for a Colorado mansion, please consider looking at other postings.

A grocery store, DVD rental, cafe, library, and several resturants are within a ten min. walk/bike ride.

There is a 24 hour Wal-Mart and more comercial dining and shooping in Durango, 25 minutes away.

We are close to the mountains and several lakes. This home is for the outdoor enthusiast! We are close to two ski resorts (one and two hours) and MANY mountain bike, horse and hiking trails, and the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gage Railroad. During the summer whitewater rafting and kayaking the river are a favorite pass time.

Bayfield is a rural mountain town. We are six hours from Denver (across the Rocky Mountains). Durango is a tourist town and caters to visitors from all over the world year round.

We are close to many national parks:
Mesa Verde 45 min
Chaco Canyon 1.5hours
Great Sand Dunes 2hours

Also, if Native American culture interests you, this is a major area for several tribes.

The high deserts of Utah 2hrs

Albuquerque, NM is the nearest (three hours)international airport.

The surrounding area is both mountainous and alpine desert. Perfect for both hiking and skiing.
