In Málaga province, there is a mind-boggling amount to do and see.
The house is right next to the River Guadiaro which is great for swimming in the summer. Also in the summer months, the magnificently located municipal pool (with restaurant) opens. Jimera itself is a stunning white village and many others are also within an easy drive. Being in a natursl park, walking routes abound. The Caves of 'Cueva de la Pilets' are well worth a visit. Many scenic picnic and bbq spots, river swimming, fishing and of course extensive choices for eating out are just some of the options.
Trips to the cities of Granada, Córdoba and Sevilla are possible. Each one is roughly a 2 and a half hour drive.
Besides the train line (Algeciras - Bobadilla) close to the house, there are infrequent public bus services. However, a car is advisable.
Very reasonably priced car hire is available at Málaga Airport.
