My parents own a beautiful Cape Dutch style home in the breathtakingly picturesque wine valley of Franschhoek, Cape Town. Their home is surrounded by mountains and grape/fruit farms and is within walking distance of the picturesque village of Franschhoek. Franschhoek is known as the culinary capital of South Africa, with some world renowned restaurants and wine farms to visit. It is an hours drive from the city of Cape Town or coastal resort of Hermanus, which both have gorgeous beaches, excellent restaurants and nightlife, cultural events and wonderful shopping!

They are looking to arrange a house/apartment swap with someone who wishes to visit South Africa, Cape Town at any stage during the year. This is completely flexible, you could go there any time it suits you, as there is always separate accommodation available.



They are coming to visit my husband and I in Vancouver for the months of July and August and are looking for a furnished apartment or house in Vancouver to stay in for the duration of their visit. It does not need to be the equivalent of theirs, as long as it is central and comfortable with basic mod cons it will be great.



West End, English Bay, Kitsilano, Point Grey, Yaletown, False Creek or Coal Harbour would be perfect – and also a shorter stay somewhere on the Sunshine Coast, Whistler or Victoria Island/Salt Spring Island, Okanagan, Rockies or similar would be great for a getaway while they’re here.

It will be winter in South Africa in July/August, so perhaps not an ideal time for you to visit. However, their home has two private self contained wings on either side of the main house, each with their own kitchen, bathroom, livingroom, bedroom, patio, views etc so you would be welcome to visit anytime of the year you please in exchange for accommodation here in Vancouver for July/August. You could take up your side of the swap during Vancouver's next winter if you like.

Their accommodations can sleep up to 6 people in the most exquisite setting in the world. Accommodation in Franschhoek is mostly very upmarket and highly expensive, so you could have the benefit of all that Franschhoek and Cape Town have to offer in exchange for your accommodation here in Vancouver.
