 This family holiday home is an old cottage along the 8 km "Eamon a Chnoic Loop Walk". It is set in from a quiet country road & opens out at the back to a wild garden. This garden/field has play areas for children and is sometimes host to a neighbouring pony!

The village shop & pubs are within comfortable walking distance, 1.2 km away. On its doorstep there is hillwalking or cycling to enjoy and nearby you will find rivers to fish or swim in, an equestrian centre & a weekly traditional music session.

Within a 20 minute drive is the town of Thurles. Here you will find shops, restaurants, a modern library & arts centre, Semple Stadium (host to Gaelic football & hurling matches), cinemas, a golf course, a leisure centre and indoor swimming. Nenagh has a similar range of amenities & is reachable in 35 minutes. Along the shores of Lough Derg, 45 minutes away you will find all the amenities and activities that a beautiful lakeside has to offer.

If you want to explore Ireland's rich heritage look no further than Birr or Ormonde Castles or the Rock of Cashel. If you want to extend your day in Cashel, to eat and be entertained at the same time, check out Bru Boru! This is a visitor centre which hosts a night time cabaret of traditional Irish music, dance and song in the shadow of the Rock itself!

Upperchurch is a gateway to Ireland! Limerick & Kilkenny are 55 minutes away & the beaches of Waterford can be reached in 80 minutes. Cork, Dublin, Galway & Kerry are within a 2/3 hr drive.

This accommodation is a tastefully extended, stone built cottage. The downstairs consists of a large kitchen, a bathroom and 2 reception rooms (one of which contains a sofabed). Upstairs there is another bathroom and 4 bedrooms (a double, a triple, a single & a twin). These sleep 8 minimum, more if sofa beds are shared. We would like somewhere close to a beach, with use of a pool for 3-4 weeks next summer! In exchange we offer each of our houses!

In addition to (or instead of) staying in Dublin, you can stay at our house in Tipperary when/as it suits you (subject to bookings).

Tipperary borders with 7 counties of Ireland. It is an excellent touring base. You will be able to travel to all parts of Ireland.

Each house has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 7 comfortably but sofa beds in Tipperary and temporary bedding/floor mattresses in Dublin can increase capacity to 10 in each house.

This house is perfectly located to tour Ireland. It shares borders with Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Cork, Waterford, Clare, Limerick and Galway. Day trips to any of these counties are possible, that is if you want to leave Tipperary! Stroll down to a local pub to chat with the friendly locals and use the WIFI! If you are lucky enough to be in Upperchurch on a Thursday night you will be drawn like magnets to Jim o' the Mill's, a traditional, licensed farmhouse where music, song and story thrive!

Dine informally in the village pub, (Kinnane's) or be in Thurles/Holycross within 15 minutes. Within 45 minutes you can be in Nenagh or Cashel!

Everything in our house is for sharing; from books & bicycles to lego and rubber boots; from barbecue & travel cot to hiking boots and slippers!

We are a family of 6. Brian, my husband, Moll our 16 yr old girl, Meadhbh our 14 yr old girl, Fionn (boy of 12), Cal (boy of 10) and myself Grainne. Between us all we love music, sport, theatre, hiking and the sea. We went to San Sebastian in Summer 2012, El Port de la Selva in 2013.


We are proud too of our home in Dublin and its perfect location (see my other listing).
