The Home
Our newer townhome is situated in the inner west suburb area of Ottawa in (Nepean) close to major shopping centres, restaurants, national parks, museums and cultural centres. We are 15 minutes driving to downtown Ottawa, (Parliament buildings, Byward markets, Rideau Canal, Winterlood) The home is very spacious and comfortable with 3 bedrooms, 1. 5 bathrooms (one ensuite), extensive living areas on the main floor and lower level. We also have a well equipped kitchen with microwaves, stove, oven, bread maker, blenders, food processers, toasters etc. The home has airconditioning and is centrally heated in addition to a gas fireplace in the living room. A computer with high speed broadband access is available in addition to cable televisions. Our neighbourhood is very quiet and very safe.

The Neighborhood
Ottawa is set in the eastern province of Ontario. Being the Canadian capital, Ottawa is a well-planned riverside city of beautiful parklands in Gatineau, national museums, libraries, art galleries, theatres, restaurants, Ottawa canal (come during Winterlood season and skate on the longest outdoor skating rink in the world!). It is ideally suited for people looking for an enjoyable holiday in Canada with just a 2. 5 hour drive to Montreal, 4.5 hours to Toronto and 2 hours drive to the American border. Ottawa is a bilingual city (English and French), you will see signs with both languages, and hear French and English used extensively. All public workers speak both languages. There are a number of bridges that cross the Ottawa river from the Ontario side to the Quebec side. Once you cross the bridge, everything is French. It's like a whole new world across the bridge! Great for French speakers or people that want to polish their French skills.

The Dates
Prefers school holidays as we have a college age daughter. Opens to offers between Dec-Jan, June-August. We are looking for about 1-2 weeks of exchange.

Destination:
We are planning to go to a few countries in Europe this summer, but happy to consider any destinations.

The People
We are a couple in our late fourties, a communication engineer and a nurse. We have a daughter in college and living with us. We all love travelling and having the opportunity to experience new cultures and communities. We love sight-seeing, especially architectures.
