Charming B&B in the historical center of Paris.

Welcome to the very heart of Le Marais district of Paris, a charming and much sought-after setting, within walking distance - safe at all times of the day or night - of the most popular and well-known locations in the heart of Paris.

Our house, which we have faithfully preserved and restored over the last 25 years with a genuine respect for the memory of "old" Paris, was built in 1609 and faces Rue Charlot in the front and looks over a courtyard in the back.

Our 3 independent rooms, with original solid old stones and exposed beams, have been renovated with contemporary design and décor resulting in a completely private and peaceful bed-and-breakfast haven; one of the best in the Paris area.

After a peaceful night, you will breakfast on our local boulangerie baguettes with Jean-Luc's honey and Denise's homemade jams

So explore our site to find more about our b&b and then book with us for your trip to Paris.
We are looking forward to your visit and to making your stay in Paris a memorable one!

The Marais: the historical heart of Paris

Our central location in The Marais, on the right bank, across from The Latin Quarter, makes a perfect base to visit Paris.

The "Old Paris" and the effervescence of creativity

Known as one of the best neighborhood walks, Le Marais is full of innumerable architectural marvels. You will see a variety of styles in which the spirit of the Middle Age and the classicism of the Renaissance flourish alongside more reserved buildings, creating harmony and, at the same time, diversity.

Elegant and sophisticated, yet at the same time with a real sense of community, Le Marais keeps the spirit of "old Paris" alive, while staying completely in tune with the latest trends, shaped by the talented creators who choose to settle there.

Numerous café-théâtres, cinemas, bars, jazz clubs and restaurants make for an environment that is both lively and richly varied every day and in particular during special events such as: la nuit des musées, la fête de la musique (June 21), le festival soirs d'été, Bastille Day, Paris plage, les journées du patrimoine, les journées des jardins, and I love Rue Charlot.

You will easily and safely walk to:

A large choice of traditional French cuisine or ethnic restaurants,
Most museums: The Louvre, Beaubourg, Carnavalet, Le Louvre, l'Orangerie, Orsay, les Arts Décoratifs, Victor Hugo's house, Art and History of Judaism, Cognacq-Jay, Conservatory of Arts and Métiers, ...
Notre Dame Cathedral, both banks of the Seine, La Place des Vosges, l'île Saint Louis, l'île de la Cité and Saint-Martin canal,
Opera Bastille and many theatres on the Grand Boulevards,
Boutiques in Rue des Francs Bourgeois, other streets in The Marais or Forum des Halles,
The maze of interior courtyards of the precious Saint Paul Village which is dedicated to the art of interior decorating: antiques, contemporary creations, workshops, ...
Issey Miyaké Studio,
Local markets, including Marché des Enfants Rouges (the oldest market in Paris) and local markets 3-4 days/week.
Conveniently situated just a few minutes walk from the Metro and buses, you can easily get to:
The Eiffel tower, the Trocadéro and the Champs Elysées,
Montmartre, Sacré Coeur Basilica and the Moulin Rouge,
The museums: Branly, Rodin, Invalides, le Petit Palais, le Grand Palais, Jacquemart-André,
Opéra Garnier, Opéra Lyrique, Comédie Française and many other theaters,
La Villette,
The Grands Magasins.
Day Trips to Paris environs: Versailles is directly accessible with RER C at Saint-Michel or Invalides Metro stops as well as Eurodisney resort with RER B at Gare du Nord Metro stop, all just a few stops away on the Metro.

Getting There and Away: We have easy access using public transportation to all airports (Roissy CDG, Orly and Beauvais), train terminals for Eurostar and Thalys, and all TGV train stations.

Rue Charlot

Set right in the heart of the bubbling Marais, rue Charlot has managed to hold on to its authentic cachet, reflecting the atmosphere of a rich past and a lively renewal today.

Behind the impressive sculpted gates of the covered driveways, impeccable French-style gardens and beautiful paved courts create the intimate character and authentic charm of this district. An extraordinary heritage, enriched even further by the collections of nearby museums which create a truly exceptional environment, yours to enjoy on a daily basis.

Now highly fashionable, this street so typical of the Marais is the preferred address for stores that "set the tone": Denise René art gallery, Galerie Dansk for furniture design, fashion designer Moon Young Hee right across the road and many others.

And there are still local neighbourhood markets and shops including the stalls of the "Marché des Enfants Rouges" offering a diverse range of fresh fruits, wines, cheese, food and produce, which forms such an important part of daily French life.
About B&B Owners/Managers :
We met on Marseilles Graduate Business School campus. Jean-Luc was living in a fraternity with a view on the pine trees and the Calanques of the Mediterranean sea and Denise still in the family home of her parents at Le Roucas Blanc above the Corniche.

Denise

After a few years at the American advertising agency Mc Can Ericson where she was responsible for European clients, Denise quit her job to look after their 3 children. In her mid 40's she went back to Paris 7 University and graduated with a Master degree in Clinical Psychology. She is now a therapist working in her private practice as well as for an institution specialized on teenagers.

Jean-Luc

Jean-Luc is a '79 graduate from New York University Stern School of Business and made an international career in Management Consulting (Accenture, Capco) and Banking (JP Morgan) with assignements in Europe, the US, Eastern Europe, Africa, Central America and Asia.

Like all his family, Jean-Luc is talented in the restoration of old dwellings, looks after their donkeys and produces honey in their country home in Le Périgord.

He founded Bonne Nuit Paris in July 2007 at the age of 50.

He is an active member of Association pour la Sauvegarde du Paris Historique, Histoire du 3ème and Société Centrale d'Apiculture of The Luxembourg Garden.

Our 3 children are all students in Paris: Edouard is studying mechanical engineering at Pierre & Marie Curie Polytechnic University, Adeline History at La Sorbonne University, and Gaël Law at Assas University.

At home, we ride bikes or use rollerblades to move around Paris and are all fluent in several languages including English, Spanish and German.

We are looking forward to sharing with you our passion for Le Marais where we moved in 1983 and for our home where you will find a touch of our provincial roots ...

Our daughter Adeline, a graduate from La Sorbonne University, with a master degree in History, will be happy to be your private guide to penetrate the cultural heritage, lifestyle, sophistication and creativity of Paris.
