Bed and Breakfast accommodation: I will be renting out the spare room in my beautiful 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo for the Olympics. Located in one of Vancouver's best neighbourhood's (South Granville) my condo is in a modern, well-maintained 10 year old building. It is located on the 9th floor with views to the north (downtown, mountains and ocean), east (city view) and south (city/green space). The room for rent is a smaller bedroom with a brand-new deluxe queen sized bed, large windows with an east-facing view, lots of storage (closet and chest of drawers), and best of all - its own private bathroom. Amenities include: in-suite laundry, wireless internet, and continental breakfast (bagels and pastries from Vancouver's best bakeries, toast, cereal, juices, coffee, oatmeal, etc.).
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD (South Granville): My condo is 1 block from the South Granville retail area and 2 blocks from Broadway retail area. All amenities are within a few blocks including: grocery stores, drug stores, banks, many restaurants and bars, coffee shops, a gym, several walk-in clinics, liquor store, other shopping including Future Shop, Chapters and clothing/shoes. It is a 15-20 minute walk to Kits beach and a 10 minute walk to Granville Island. PROXIMITY TO OLYMPIC VENUES / PUBLIC TRANSIT - Transit downtown in 5 minutes on the Granville street busses (1 block from my condo): Downtown will be a hub of activity during the Olympics with events happening at BC Place (opening/closing ceremonies), Hockey Place (ice hockey), Pacific Coliseum (short track speed skating and figure skating), as well as a myriad of cultural events. - Walk downtown in 20-25 minutes: If the transit system and roads are completely congested, why not just walk downtown and enjoy the beautiful views from the Granville Street Bridge on the way? - Walk to Granville Island in 10 minutes. From there it is a short tram ride to the Olympic Village. - Catch the Broadway express bus (99 B-Line) just 2 blocks from my condo. Take the bus 2 stops east to get to the City Hall Canada Line Station (which takes you to the Vancouver Olympic Centre – curling, Richmond – speed skating, and to the airport in 15 minutes). Take the bus 15 minutes west to UBC (ice hockey). - Take a 10 minute ride on the Granville street busses to get to the Seabus, which will take you to North Vancouver, Cypress Mountain and Whistler. Welcome to Vancouver. I look forward to hearing from you! |
