We live in a beautiful, brand new townhouse. We just moved in a couple months ago. It is 2200 square feet spread over three stories, with three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. On the first floor is our guest bedroom with a queen size bed and full bathroom. The living room, dining room, kitchen and a half bath are on the second floor. Upstairs we have the master bedroom and bathroom, as well as our office with a futon that opens up into a full size bed, and another bathroom. We have a queen size air mattress which can sleep an additional 1-2 people if needed.
Please excuse our bare walls...we haven't had time to decorate yet since moving in. We're working on that. One of our cars may be available if you would like to exchange those as well. We have an Infiniti G35 and a Nissan Murano. Delray Beach is on the east coast of Florida, halfway between Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale and directly north of Boca Raton. Our home is one block south of Atlantic Avenue, the main road going through the Downtown Delray area. Atlantic Ave is filled with boutiques, galleries, sidewalk cafes, trendy restaurants (both casual and upscale), bars and nightclubs. Plenty of live entertainment can be found. Although you can sometimes here the music from our balcony, inside the house you’d never know we lived so close to such a lively area. The hurricane impact glass windows help with keeping the noise out. Delray was named All-American City in 1993 and also in 2001, the only city in Florida to receive the award twice. The Travel Channel has named Delray one of the best ‘Secret Beaches’. Delray is a great place to spend a relaxing beach holiday. The Atlantic Ocean is a 15-20 minute walk down Atlantic Ave (plenty to see along the way), or you can take the Downtown Roundabout, a free shuttle service running on a loop through the area, which stops half a block north of us. Boat and Jet Ski rentals are available nearby, as well as windsurfing, fishing, sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, scuba diving and other water sports. Directly north of us on Atlantic Ave is the Delray Beach Tennis Center, a world class tennis facility that has hosted numerous tournaments in the past. Courts are open to the public for a small daily fee. Golf is also available in the area. Delray is also a great base for exploring the rest of South Florida. Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach are both 20 minutes away, Miami/South Beach is 45 minutes south, Key Largo is 2 hours, Key West 3.5 hours, and Orlando is 2.5 hours to the north. Port Everglades (in Fort Lauderdale) is easily accessible for a quick weekend cruise to the Bahamas. Great shopping can be found at the Boca Town Center Mall. If you’re looking for a bargain, check out the Sawgrass Mills Mall, one of the largest outlet malls in the world. |
