Hello everyone,
Frank and Linda would like to show you their home and tell you a little bit about the home they live in and the location of their house.
“Our house consists of three bedrooms, one bathroom with bath and shower, lounge/dining area, fitted kitchen and utility room and conservatory. There are small well established gardens both at the front and rear, and the property is not overlooked. It is fenced off on three sides and is very private. Double glazed and gas central heating.
The position of the house is on a main road, set well back. It is situated about 3 miles from Leigh town centre, which is in Lancashire and in the North West of England. Very easy access to the Motorway Network and local Airports include Manchester International and Liverpool, each around 16 miles away. There are several Primary schools within walking distance and two High Schools a matter of minutes away.
As we hope to live permanently in Australia, preferably Adelaide, we are leaving a lot of furniture and kitchen appliances i.e Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Microwave, Washing Machine. Three piece suite, TV video etc., beds, carpets and curtains.
Leigh is a small Northern town situated between Manchester and Liverpool. We are just an hour’s drive from the coast and the local costal towns are Blackpool and Southport. We are also one hours drive from the Lake District so handy for a day out or a weekend away.
In Leigh itself we have just had a new sports village built, which houses our Local Rugby League Team “Leigh Centurions”, there is also a swimming pool, gym and other facilities housed in the sports village. On the same ground is Wigan and Leigh College and students from 16-19 attend for their further education programme.
There are country walks around “The Leigh Flash” which is a lake 5 minutes walk from the house; there is also a sailing club there for those who are interested.
We have shops and a market which is on every day. We also have two shopping precincts with supermarkets and shops, plenty of car parking spaces. The main shopping street in Leigh is Bradshawgate and this is pedestrianised, there are also ample parking places in the town centre.
We have a bus station in the town where buses run locally and out as far as Manchester Warrington and Bolton. A few bars and bistros are available for eating out and socialising.
Frank and I are of retirement age, but still do full time work, we can be available to move if the right people come along. We have family in Adelaide and that is our main reason for wanting to retire there. We have visited Adelaide a couple of times and feel that this is the right place for us to retire to.
