Visits – a visit normally corresponds to a single person moving through a website. The reporting software can measure the number of visits. A visit is defined as a sequence of requests to a site, all made from the same computer (IP Address) with no gap between requests of more than 20 consecutive minutes.
Unique Visitor – reporting software can identify how many unique visitors visited the site during a fixed time frame, for example a day. Unique visitors are measured according to their unique IP addresses (which are like online fingerprints) and are counted only once within a defined time period, no matter how many times they visit. For example, if a person visits the site from the same computer a few times during one day, this will be counted as only one unique visitor that day.
Page View – also called a page hit. The retrieval of any page from a website. Every time user opens a page from the website is counted as one hit.
