Blackpool on Sea

Homestay in Blackpool

Blackpool on sea is located on the lovely Fylde Coast of England facing the Atlantic Ocean. It benefits from the mild trade winds which allows Orchids to be grown. The weather is very mild all year round but during winter the Seas can get very rough. If you are out on Sundays enjoying a hot-beef sandwich in one of the many Beach Caves Cafes which are carved into solid rock, watch out, you may get drenched for free.  One customer who left his meal for a call of nature returned to find a keen eyed seagull with a taste for Burgers had scoffed the lot, much to the delight of the children around..

Wonderful safe beaches and miles of walkways on the beaches makes Blackpool very interesting to visit. It is the Nations fun Capitol with shows pantomimes, rides, Fish and Chips Lancashire Style wrapped up in newspaper, and much more...   Worth a visit is also Fleetwood, lying 5 miles to the North.  It is best seen by a sea front tram ride. This is a Victorian invention and it is a real piece of nostalgia. St. Ann on Sea 5 miles South has wonderful stretches of beach where animals are free to wander. We bring here our cat on a Sundays...

Windsurfing and go-carting as well as paragliding are a must to watch.  Or take part in a picnic amongst the dunes. At Trinity House we are fortunate to be only 5 minutes walk from the main Railway Station Blackpool North, and 3 minutes from the Bus Station. Also, not to be missed is the world famous Illuminations miles of free wonderful light up characters.  The airport is 20-minutes by taxi or bus.  Rail and bus are excellent value to see the region and further afield Manchester United football and shopping malls.   Trafford Centre Museums and Universities are one hour by train. Only $15 return.

The Lake District with its wildlife sanctuary is wonderful. Yorkshire Dales made famous by James Heriot Veterinary Films Books, and films "Last of the Summer".  In Wearsden is shot  "Emmerdale," a daily British soap.  "Heartbeat," the fifties based police series is filmed in Packman town.

Stunning Snowdonia Mountain, Isle of Man, Historic Chester, and Ancient York with its world famous Cathedral is only a short journey away. See you soon in Blackpool.
