Jan 3, 2006 - Koh Samui, Thailand

Reported by JoMar© All rights reserved.

... Hope you all had a blast over the New Year weekend!   We did!

We decided at the last minute to leave our little apartment here in Phuket and celebrate the new year festivities in Kho Samui ... on the other side/coast of Thailand.

We had not been there yet and plus our friend Kim would be back from "home" in Australia and spending it in Samui with her friend Sherry, also from Oz, so I thought, let's join them!

So, on the early hours (like at 6am ) we began our trip over to Koh Samui...   It was further than we thought -- from door to door it took about 10 hours... :-(

But, hey, we had a ball. Plus we met a cool guy from United States, Kevin, whom we ended up rooming with for the 2 nights there in Samui. It was great Kev, and hope to meet up with you in Bangkok.

We were going to spend some time scouting out more of the islands of Thailand, but guess what... believe it or not, we are beached/islanded out. YUP...

I know some of you are in rain/snow and would love to see more islands of Thailand, so, why not do it... jump on a jet and come on over! But we won't be here -- we are on our way back to Bangkok (again!) just to relax at our 2nd home here in Thailand, at Kim's!

We will stay there until about the 20th of January when we will then venture to Malaysia and then to Singapore for the Chinese New Year (supposed to be very spectacular!) and meet up with a friend and "tour guide" that we've met in Vienna, Dawn! Can't wait, Dawn! Hope you are ready for us; and by the way, we have not booked any accommodations yet ! "yikes".

Happy New Year and love,

Marc xoxox and John xo
