Jul 7, 2005 - Sofia, Bulgaria to Budapest, Hungary
Reported by JoMar© All rights reserved. We are trying to update as much as we can. We found a "reasonable" internet cafe here in Prague...
Ok, so our departure from Istanbul was somewhat sad, we loved it so much! The train ride was again a bit on the intimidating side, but we were a bit more at ease with it, realizing it was normal procedure to lift our passports and delay us for hours, with machine guns present!
Sofia, BulgariaSofia was a bit on the uneventful side, 'specially coming from Istanbul...
we only stayed one night, in this yukky hostel, clean but absolutely no character, except for the great people we met there at the what I remember, RED STAR hostel...
Nick, Louis; (slam-some-vag) / and Simon and Sam ! How are you guys ? !!
Simon, Sam: had tons of fun on that night train with you, UNO, beers !!! It was great !
Budapest, HungaryWay more exciting !

The city is beautifully laid out. Walked for miles again, dicovering the great culture here, the Danube, castles, gondola ride, Parliament buildings, food etc. There is an amazing castle district with beautiful palaces from many many moons ago that are now condos. This is up on this hill over looking this really large park. There is also a very large island right in the middle of the Danube that is really cool too. John went for a run up to the top of this mountain area where there was a war monument of a lady holding a leaf. This statue can be seen all over Budapest and the view from up there was just amazing! One of the few cities we visited where there was actually some cool places to run for John, without a stoplight every block!!
Sorry we are being a bit brief here, still at the same cafe in Prague, it has been almost 3 hours! and we still have to catch you up on fantastic Prague, WITH pictures!
John and Marc
