Our compound is about 600 square meters and is surrounded by a two meter high wall, which still makes it possible to see the street from inside the house.
The wall has two gates, one for personel and one gate for a car. On the gates are African paintings. For the car we have a gravel parkingplace.The house is in the middle of the garden, the house is surrounded by perches with flowering plants.
In the rest of the garden you can find fruittrees including bananas, mango,oranges,guava,limes,avocados, grapefruit and coconut.
Security is very important to us!That is why we have two watchman, one for the day who is also gardener and one for the night, the watchmans house is situated at the back of the garden.A cleaning lady comes 5 days a week,if needed she can also cook and wash the clothes too for an extra fee.
Our house is furnished with mostly new furniture, the floors are completely tiled. You enter the house from a small veranda and enter the livingroom.
It has seats for 7 persons, a salontable and a cupboard with television,in the cupboard you find Lonely Planets Guidebook for the Gambia.The walls are decorated with african art. The spacious diningroom has a table with 4 chairs. The kitchen is completely equipped.
You find a gascooker, a microwave and a refrigerator with freezer and of course pots and pans, cutlery etc.
In the guestroom is a double bed with musquitonet and a ventilator and one single bed too, we have here a vacuum cleaner and ironing table and a cupboard with mirror.
Some of the main plugs are adapted for European plugs so an adapter is not needed.
The guestbathroom has hot shower and toilet.
