For après ski the traditional Bansko taverns (called "Mehana"), with their exceptional charm and style offer local atmosphere by their cuisine and good selection of Bulgarian wines. Most of the local "Mehanas" even offer live folk music. Many local cafes and bars offer refreshments. Discos and night clubs work without time limit, and usually close early in the morning.
In summer hiking and climbing are popular, with well signed routes and hikers' chalets. Mountain bikes can be hired locally in order to explore this beautiful region. Local companies can organise trips in the mountains e.g. white water rafting, canoeing, paragliding. Also in summer the town hosts a week long jazz festival and other events.
Bansko is also a great base for historical sightseeing e.g. the famous Rila Monastery. The area is rich in historical remains, from ancient burial mounds to Roman amphitheatres (car required).

PRICING NOTES:
The above pricing chart is for a one bedroom apartment at Chalet Montagne and may be subject to change at the owner's discretion. Please enquire for 2 bedroom apartment pricing.
10% Discount for late bookings 1 week before arrival.
5% Discount for long stays in excess of 10 days and 10% Discount for 20 days.
No discount available Xmas & New Year and February half term holiday week.
All apartments are also available on a per night basis please divide by 7 for the per night cost.
Minimum duration of stay is 3 nights in Winter and 5 nights in Summer.
BOOKING CONDITIONS:
Peak weeks Xmas and New Year a 50% deposit payment is required, other weeks a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm booking. Thereafter the booking balance of 70% is due 30 days before arrival.
GBP 100 refundable deposit required to cover possible breakages returned on departure should everything be in order. This is payable in Bansko on apartment key collection.

Both companies also offer a cheap chauffeur driven transfer service for those not wishing to drive. A regular public bus runs every hour from Sofia.
