AGAPANTHUS STUDENT ACCOMMODATION

in my fully-furnished, self-catering, corner double-storey home in Agapanthus Avenue, Devils Peak, Cape Town South Africa.

This home is situated on the slopes of Table Mountain and has beautiful, exquisite, amazing, uninterrupted and panoramic views ‘to-die-for’ of –

• the entire city centre of Cape Town;
• Table Mountain directly behind my house;
• the cable car running up and down Table Mountain;
• Signal Hill mountain;
. Lion’s Head mountain;
• Robben Island;
• the 2010 FIFA World Cup Stadium, Green Point in the distance;
• the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront;
• Cape Town Harbour; and
• the Atlantic Sea ..

so you can imagine the spectacular sunsets that can be seen from both front upstairs and downstairs wooden decks of this home. A perfect balcony for binoculars ... so don’t forget yours !!

Across the road alongside the house, there is a well-kept grassed park area with benches and where ‘a river runs through it’ down from Table Mountain. Here, locals enjoy the greenery and tranquility of the sound of the stream while they picnic, walk their dog or just laze around.

The house consists of 7 private lockable bedrooms. Both upstairs & downstairs floors have open-plan kitchens, lounges & dining rooms, bathrooms & wooden-deck balconies which overlook the whole of central Cape Town. The entire house is locked with security doors throughout.

At the moment, I have international students from Mauritius, Spain, Germany, Britain & California, who are all getting on very well together. Apart from studying they are having a great time mingling with newfound friends, exploring Cape Town and having fun.

I am pet-friendly - have 3 cats and an adorable small dog.

DISTANCES ::

• 15mins is all it takes from the house into town via a guaranteed & safe taxi route;

• A 5 mins walk, will take you to get to the local supermarket, Kwikspar and Tops Bottle Store, Wash-A-Pleasure Laundromat, The Health Junction Wellness & Spa Centre, a General Practitioner - Dr De Andrade, Carlisle’s Restaurant/Pub, Raw Eaterie, Bella Italia Restaurant, The Red Sofa Video shop, Aromatherapy studio, Absolut hairdresser and The Sidewalk Café bistro is a 5 min walk;

• 10mins away is where to local Gardens Shopping Centre is situated;

• 15mins to the city centre & Cape Town Police station;

• 10 mins to local schools, colleges & churches; and

• 20mins to the beach, the World Cup Stadium & Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

THE HOUSE CONSISTS OF :
2 open plan kitchens, lounges and dining-rooms;
The paved indoor entertainment area consists of a built-in barbeque/braai as well as a stunning horseshoe-shaped pub which is surrounded by 10 log chairs and TV where you can watch any program of your choice as well as any music program from a wide variety of channels.
The paved outdoor entertainment area also consists of a built-in barbeque/braai , a wooden communal table with benches to match seating +-8 people, a dartboard and a chill-out couch where u can relax.
There are dedicated electric plugs in these entertainment areas for you to plug-in your laptop to listen to your own playlist.
This area overlooks the small splash rock pool in the small garden making this area, the perfect spot to ‘chill out’, tan and/or entertain friends especially during the summer months. Invite all your friends and enjoy these areas during your stay - Have a party.... go mad!!
At the in-house pub called ‘BUDDIES’, the people get together, chat and enjoy some drinks. All you need is your own laptop music to set the ambience. Friends are welcome.
Juliana, my reliable house domestic will attend to the weekly spring cleaning of the house and your bedroom (if requested);
Red Button Wifi is available via the Credit Card system.

Access to TopTV channels.

There is a DVD player to use when hiring some movies from The Red Sofa DVD store – a 10min walk from the house.

You don’t always have to cook = a Mr Delivery menu and service (a food & drinks courier) is available anytime you wish to place your orders from various restaurants in the centre of the city.

Not only do you have a room here but you also have FREE access to the entire house. If your room is situated downstairs and you would like to sit on the upstairs balcony, you can with pleasure - and vice versa. It’s all here for you to enjoy.

Behind the house is the famous Devils Peak mountain (on the left-hand side of Table Mountain) where you can either cycle or follow many beautiful mountain paths. There is an old mine quarry which one can admire and where one can picnic too. When there is a fire on the mountain, helicopters use the water in this quarry to douse out the flames.

Laundry facilities are available 5 mins away at Wash-A-Pleasure.
