Our house is a two-story, Victorian row house. We have a small fenced yard, with a deck and a gas grill. There are three bedrooms: a master bedroom with a private bathroom, a child's bedroom, and a home office with a fold-out couch. Downstairs are the living and dining rooms, with two fold-out couches. The house is comfortable and attractive. It has central heating and air conditioning, and lots of windows and light. There is also wireless internet.
Our house is six blocks from the U.S. Capitol and Supreme Court, and a 20-minute walk from the Smithsonian Museums, including the National Air and Space Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the National Gallery of Art. Our house is two blocks from restaurants, and is only 6 blocks from Union Station, a beautifully renovated train station with Amtrak connections to New York City ( 3 1/2 hours away). Union Station also has restaurants and shops, and Washington's very safe and clean subway system.
There's lots to do in D.C. for adults and children, including many free museums with world-class art collections, great restaurants, great theater and music. Our house is in a terrific location to comfortably explore the city, or use it as a jumping-off point to go to New York City, the beaches or mountains(2 hours away).
