Take this opportunity to stay at a nice apartment in the heart of Malmö, the third most populous city in Sweden and the capital of the Swedish southernmost province Skåne. Malmö is is a commercial hub and a cosmopolitan metropolis that has much to offer for people of all ages and interests and it gives you a chance to enjoy both city buzz and beach life.

Of all Swedish cities Malmö have the highest concentration of restaurants per capita and is famous for its food culture. For art and culture enthusiasts there is everything from Malmö Museums' wide and diverse range of galleries to Konsthallen, Moderna Museet Malmö (a filial of the National Museum of Modern Art) and many more. While Stockholm has the best-known art galleries and attracts the big-name pop stars, Malmö is the capital of cutting-edge art and culture. Malmö has got a reputation for being ’the Swedish version of Berlin’.
Malmö offers good shopping and everything is within walking distance! It has a huge range of exciting shops, boutiques, department stores and shopping centres, most of it pedestrian walkway – so no smelly car fumes to worry about. And a currency, the Swedish crown, which has seen better times, particularly against the Euro.
Our apartment is situated in the very city centre in the neighbourhood Möllevången which is the centre for alternative culture and nightlife. In our neighbouring streets you find all the best venues for alternative music and lots of vibrant expressions of underground culture mixed with the city’s many official cultural events.

A few hundred metres from our apartment you find Folkets Park, the oldest public recreation park of its kind in Sweden, with trees and lawns, a stage where concerts and other entertaining take place during summer months, and of course a lot of children’s plays facilities. Folkets Park also have a small amusement park with a gigantic Parisian wheel, a Terrarium, a little farm zoo and a pony riding and also a children's stage with theatre, films, circus and other activities weekdays and weekends, all year long.

Very close to our apartment you can also find Möllevångstorget which is the scene of Malmö's largest and liveliest open-air market, while around the square and in the neighbouring streets you will find stores and restaurants offering an array of tantalising aromas and flavours from all corners of the world. A few blocks away from the apartment you can also find the Triangeln shopping centre that offers everything you need, from clothes and accessories to tools, cosmetics and consumer electronics.

Malmö is called the ’City of Parks’, and it’s numerous parks are a key part of the city. In Kungsparken and Slottsparken (which border the old town centre) you will find canals, rare trees and - weather permitting - a leisurely crowd of people out for a stroll with their picnic baskets looking for that perfect spot in the grass. Pildammsparken's wide-open spaces and two large ponds attract many different species of bird-life and is occasionally a venue for fantastic light displays.

In the city centre you will find Ribersborg, a two-kilometre sandy beach which has received the Blue Flag environmental certificate. In the summer months, people come here to sunbathe, swim, barbecue and/or go jogging along the beach and its surrounding green belt. Right next to the beach you find Västra Hamnen with its pubs, cafés, boating and bathing from wharfs and promenades.

In Malmö you will also find a world class Skate Park and some of the best arenas in Europe; Malmö Arena for shows as well as hockey, and Swedbank Stadion - the home arena for world famous soccer club Malmö FF, the club where Zlatan Ibrahimović signed his first contract.

Distances are short and it is close to Österlen, Söderslätt and other idyllic country sides in the province Skåne. Malmö’s position in the middle of the Öresund region also means it is close to the metropolis of Copenhagen and the rest of Själland. With the Öresund Bridge, the motorway and railway link, it takes only 35 minutes by train from Malmö city centre to the centre of Copenhagen, Denmark, and 22 minutes to Copenhagen Airport. Why not take a ’Two nation vacation’ and visit both Denmark and Sweden?
