We live in the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein, a beautiful holiday region, the “land between two seas”, between North Sea and Baltic Sea.
Our town Travemünde is a district of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck, a city full of history, since 1987 UNESCO World Heritage. Until 1989 the urban area bordered directly on the Iron Curtain.

We are two persons, both teachers. I (Jürgen) was a school principal. I am 70 and I have retired in 2003. My wife Birgit is 57. She has recently retired too and is now helping me to realize a pensioner’s way of life.
And now we intend to see a bit more of the world and we found that the world is waiting for us to come!
We have the idea that meeting people in other countries, talking to them and living with them is much better than travelling through the world from one hotel to the next with a guide-book in your hand.
Since 2004 we visited already this way New Zealand twice, Australia, Canada and Norway. And each travel was a really great experience.
