This is Hemingway's Paris - heart of the Latin Quarter. The famous American writer lived here, just at the end of this pedestrian street. Rue Rollin is a peaceful residential street in the heart of the Quartier Latin and also short walk to the Seine, Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, Botanical Gardens to name a few.
The apartment is overlooking a small beautiful square in two levels with a small fountain - one of the quaint Parisian hideouts. Also on this street, lived René Descartes - a famous philosopher renowned for his Cartesian philosophy. On the other side, this street ends in the lively Place de Contrescarpe and the Mouffetard area where academia (from Sorbonne, Polytechnique, etc) as well as tourists drop in for a nice glass of wine and intellectual discussions. A few steps away is the beautiful jardin des Plantes (Botanical gardens) - a huge span of greenery to fill your lungs with oxygen, and also for nice garden lunch. Next door is also the Arène de Lutèce (Roman Amphitheatre renovated by Victor Hugo and dedicated to the French goddess Lutetia) – good to have a picnic lunch amidst birds and flowers. In addition, there are different smaller gardens and flowery parks around where you can just sit and enjoy the sun and the fresh air. For gastronomic pleasures, you can check out the traditional marché place Monge or the marché place Maubert, to grab local delicacies – cheese, ham and wines. The different traditional restaurants on Rue Monge and the Mouffetard area are also worth discovering. And if you want to travel all over Paris, you have different Metro connections and several bus lines just a short walk from our apartment. The location is so convenient that for arrival & departure from the airport you can use public transport (1 change only) to come right to our doorstep. There are trains to Versailles every 15 mins, from Gare d’Austerlitz (just across the Botanical Gardens). Besides, you can always go walking to le Marais or Bastille, which is just across the river Seine, or to the lively area of St Germain des Prés – these are all a casual stroll away. The apartment is on the third floor of a walkup building overlooking a small beautiful square in two levels with a small fountain - one of the quaint Parisian hideouts. It has been recently renovated with a modern interior decor. The double-glazing French windows provide a lot of calm and flood the rooms with sunlight. The floors have antique Oak parquet In the living room there is a comfortable sofa, a desk and a music system. The sofa can be converted to a large and comfortable bed for 1 person. All modern amenities are present including Broadband Internet connection and LCD colour TV with international channels. The bedroom has a comfortable bed for 2 persons, a large wardrobe and reading light on one side and many English books on the shelves. From the bedroom one has view of a communal gardens - very peaceful with trees, flowers and birds. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave oven, cooking range, coffee machine and a fridge. Sufficient utensils and dishes are provided. The bathroom is complete with a full size comfortable bathtub with glass covered shower area. Sufficient towels and linen are provided. There is a convenient automatic laundry shop just across the street - open 7 days a week. A telephone is also provided for making calls all over Europe and even cell phones in North America.
