We own a large (1700 square foot/158 sq. meter) 3-bedroom Victorian home on a quiet, tree lined, street in the city centre. Our location allows you to enjoy the peacefulness of a quiet street and yet be able to walk to all attractions and city amenities within 15 minutes. On the main floor there is a welcoming entryway which leads down the main hall, past our home office (with Internet, stereo, VCR, fax and TV) one of our two full bathrooms and into our large, sun-drenched, eat-in kitchen. It contains a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker and all other modern cooking conveniences. The kitchen leads into our family room complete with Queen size pull out sofa, large TV, stereo, and two patio doors that are the gateway to our private garden. We have a deck with gas bar-b-que, table and chairs (perfect for morning coffee) and a 100 year old maple tree which provides shade and privacy during the summer months. The second floor contains three bedrooms, two with queen sized beds, one baby's room with cribe and change table. A single or double mattress could be placed in this room if required. Also on the floor is the second bathroom. Laundry facilities are in the basement. The house has central air conditioning for the summer months and gas heat in the winter.
is Canada's capital city and one of, (if not "the") most beautiful cities in all of Canada. As the national capital, Ottawa has all the amenities you would expect in a capital city. There are 17 national museums (11 within walking distance from our home) 5 art galleries, numerous drama and stage theaters, the National Performing Arts Center (Orchestra, Ballet and Concerts), and all federal buildings including Parliament Hill. Due to Ottawa’ s location on the boarder of Québec and Ontario, our city is perfectly bilingual in English and French. Even though we live in the heart of the city, we are never more than a few minutes from Canada's famous natural beauty. Ottawa is a city devoted to nature and greenery. There are 450 kilometers of nature trails, another 250 kilometers of paved bike trails, 12 fresh water beaches, federal and provincial parks, and recreational activities such as whitewater rafting and boat rentals minutes from the downtown. Ottawa hosts 14 international festivals including the Jazz Festival, the Blues Festival, the Tulip Festival, the National Winter Carnival and the Hot Air Balloon Festival. Ottawa is ideally located 2 hours west of Montreal (an easy day trip) , 1 hour north of the American boarder (New York’s White Mountains and Vermont’s Green Mountains) and equal distant between Toronto (Canada's largest city) and Quebec City (Ottawa's rival for Canada's most beautiful city) . We live in the Centretown district of Ottawa. We are a short walk to grocery stores, countless resturants, shops, nightclubs, pubs, musuems, the Parliament Buildings, cafes and public transportation. Ottawa is the perfect city for both romantic and family vacations. Discover the picturesque picnic places, walk through the amazing gardens at Rideau Hall, stroll beside the festive canal or lose yourself (and probably some cash) at one of our two casinos. If you are a family, all the national museums are designed with both adults and children in mind. There are 2 playareas (both 2 blocks away from our home) with swings, slides and play structures, children’ s swimming pools and some supervised activities. Childern and adults will love the street entertainers on Sparks Street or the Canada Day fireworks display on Parliament Hill. |
