Our home is located on the shores of Lake Banook in Dartmouth and a mile from the bridge to downtown Halifax, a mile from the Ferry to the lively and interesting Halifax waterfront. A mile stroll through parks and along a boardwalk brings one to the grocery store. And through another park, you will be at a major shopping center. It is a wonderful place to live. The house is located at the edge of the beach are of a 20 acre park. Lake Banook is an international canoe and kayak competition venue. The house is 8 years old and is 200 feet from a swimming beach which is supervised in the summer monthsand a swimming wharf. Dartmouth is known here as the City of the Lakes. The house is comfortable with lovely lake views, outdoor bistro sets, a patio a covered verandah and garden. There are several small parks around the lake. Our location is ideal for those who love to walk. The distance around the lake is 2.5 miles. There are wonderful walking trails in nearby Shubie Park which bring you along to other lakes in the Shubenacadie Canal System. The great Cow Bay beach is about a 20 minute drive from the house. There are summer children and youth programs at the three paddling clubs just down the shore from our beach.
We have private parking, and wonderful neighbors. Halifax/Dartmouth area is located in the center of this province, and many interesting areas can be explored on day trips. In the summer, we have a second home in our live aboard sailboat, so that we can have some non concurrent exchanges so that we can have off season get aways .
