Exchange Zones

Our home is in the lovely seaside town of Warrnambool on the southwest coast of Victoria. We are about 5 minutes by car from the beach and an easy 10 bike ride (bikes are available for use) and this ease of access is the case for shopping and restaurants in our compact city of 32,000. Warrnambool is at the end of the spectacular Great Ocean Road, one of Australia’s tourist icons and about 3 hours by car from the cosmopolitan city of Melbourne.
The house has 4 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 8 people. There are 3 bathrooms one of which is an en-suite to the main bedroom. The home features a large family space and a separate sitting room. The kitchen is spacious and has modern facilities. There is a large outdoor deck with BBQ and outdoor furniture and a well maintained garden. Interested exchangers should note that there is one internal set of stairs and 2 external as the block has a considerable slope to the back.

We have 2 small dogs but these will be in kennels during simultaneous exchanges. We are however willing to host a couple at any time while we are here in expectation of a similar offer down the track. Our preferred destination at the moment is the USA and particularly southern CA as our son is taking advantage of his dual citizenship and currently working there. We are however open to all offers although as we are not yet retired we are limited to Australian school vacation times. We intend to visit the US and our son in June/July 2007 for 2 weeks flying in on June 29 and back to Australia on July 13.

Carol, 55, is still teaching art at a large secondary school in Warrnambool and intends to retire in about 3 years. She is originally from Nebraska and has been in Australia for 33 years. Greg, 57, took early retirement from teaching over 2 years ago and is now in a regional education job. We both enjoy meeting people from different cultures and learning from them.
