I offer my family vacation home on Fire Island beach off the southern coast of Long Island, New York. It is spacious, gracious and comfortable, about 15 yards from the 30 mile long, sand beach on the Atlantic Ocean. No cars are allowed on the island so there is a 25 minute ferry ride across the Great South Bay and a 10 minute walk to the house. The views are spectacular-you have full views of both the ocean and bay from the LR/DR/KIT. It is well maintained with new appliances, fresh mattresses, and beach chairs/umbrellas. The kitchen has new appliances and is great for preparing meals for several people. My town is very friendly, about 35 houses, and the beach is never crowded. There are water taxis to take you to the other communities as each one is quite different. There are 17 communities, a landmark lighthouse, a US Park called Sunken Forest, both within walking distance. Fire Island is a beautiful place for a vacation. And, it you want to go into NYC, I will be happy to help you in any way I can. The sunsets from the front deck are spectacular and we sit out there and watch the sun go down. The screen porch is wonderfully quiet for reading and can be used for al fresco dining.
